    Oral presentations

    Please bring an USB key with your ppt or pdf presentation : it will be loaded on a PC prior to your presentation (please come ahead or during breaks). If necessary, you can also bring your computer (PC or Mac) and a direct connection will be provided.

    – External Invited keynotes, 5 presentations : 45 min total (including 10 min questions).

    – Internal (SIGNALIFE) keynotes, 5 presentations : 30 min total (20 min plus 10 min questions)

    – 10 talks (selected by the Meeting Program Committee among the abstracts sent)
    20 min total (15 min plus 5 min questions)

    Posters

    General information

    Considering the final reduced number of posters (25), it has been decided to divide the money into  three poster prizes, attributed by the Meeting Program Committee : 1st prize 300€, 2nd prize 200€, 3rd prize 100 €

    Panel size to hang the poster : height 1,80m x width 0,90m; claws provided.
    To be hanged before 5 pm on Monday February 3rd, 2020 in the Salle Chagall. All posters will be on display from 6:00 till 9:30 pm.

    Poster evaluations for prizes (see criteria below) by the Meeting Program Committee (MPC) will last from 6:00-8:00 pm : the participants are kindly asked to stay in front of them during this period. A tentative precise schedule for individual poster evaluation by the MPC has been proposed but is submitted to changes: the final schedule will be on display in the Chagall room on February 3rd, 2020. After MPC evaluation, posters presenters are encouraged to stay in front of their posters to discuss with all meeting participants till the end of the Wine and Cheese poster session (9:30 pm).

    All posters will have to be removed the same day (Monday February 3rd, 2020) after the Wine and Cheese poster session (9:30 pm).

    Poster Prize attribution by the Meeting Program Committee : objective criteria for the evaluation of Signalife poster session (6:00-8:00 pm)

    The poster session will include 2 rounds. Candidates are kindly asked to stay in front of their poster  until all posters have been visited by jury members, and to wait to know whether they are shortlisted for the second round.

    During the first round, Jury members will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will visit 7-8 Posters. Each poster will be evaluated by a minimum of 3 jury members. Authors will have no more than 3 minutes (strictly respected) to present their work. This presentation will be followed by 3 minutes of questions by Jury members.

    At the end of the first round, each of the three juries will select the best (or 2 best) posters for the second round. During this second round, Authors will have no more than 3 minutes (strictly respected) to present their work in front of the whole jury (15 members). This presentation will be followed by 5 minutes of questions. At the end of the second round, the jury will award 3 posters. Names of the awardees will be announced on 4th February, during the Poster award ceremony.

     Scoring

    1st Round :

    The Posters will be graded on a raw scale of 1 to 15. Points will be earned in three areas:

    Poster Content (5 points)
    – Poster should be easy to understand without oral presentation
    – Poster should follow a logical progression
    – Text and graphic illustrations should be well balanced
    – Poster should be readable from a distance of 60 cm

    Oral Presentation (5 points)
    – The oral presentation must not exceed 3 minutes.
    – Effort should be made to present the poster in simple terms to non specialists.

    Answers to questions (5 points).
    – Answers to questions should be clear and concise and should demonstrate scientific maturity of the presenter.

    2nd Round :

    Posters selected for the second round will be scored on a raw scale of 1 to 20.
    Given the extended time allocated to questions (5 minutes instead of 3 minutes for the first round), this part will be scored out of 10 points.
